Editorial policy
How Serendib Atlas researches, reviews, sources and updates independent travel information.
This is an independent, Sri Lanka-based educational travel guide. It does not sell trips, take bookings, or accept payment for inclusion in its content.
How we research
Articles start with a specific traveller question, then use authoritative primary sources where available. Time-sensitive details such as entry rules, weather, transport schedules, prices, visas, and safety conditions are checked against current official information before publication and should be checked again by readers before travel.
AI-assisted drafting
Serendib Atlas uses AI-assisted research and drafting as part of its editorial process. We aim to use reliable and authoritative sources and review content before publication, but travel information such as prices, schedules, opening hours, restrictions, and local conditions can change. For important or time-sensitive information, travellers should confirm details with the relevant official source.
Articles are attributed to real editors where appropriate. Abdullah Kamal, Editor of Serendib Atlas, reviews editorial direction, local relevance, and cited sources. We do not present AI as an author or invent personal experience, quotes, visits, prices, availability, or endorsements.
Photography
Photographs are licensed from Pexels under the Pexels License (free for commercial use). Full provenance — photographer, source and licence for every image — is recorded in the repository. Images are chosen to represent a place or region fairly; they are illustrative context, not evidence for a specific factual claim, and they are not presented as the editor's own photography.
Sources, corrections, and updates
Published entity pages show their source links and last-verified date. A source supports a factual claim; it does not mean the source endorses this site. Pages are updated when a material error or a significant change is confirmed. The visible contact form is currently a non-sending preview, and no public corrections inbox has been configured.
Editorial independence
No destination, business, accommodation, attraction, or travel provider can buy a ranking, recommendation, or favourable wording. If that changes in a future version of the site, the relationship and its effect on the content will be disclosed clearly.
